Thanks to all who offered help. Once I set up the utl_file_dir parameter, the dictionary file was created with no problem.
Thanks also for the warning about bugs ........ I am trying to get this set up on an 8.1.5 database running on Solaris 2.6. If there's anything blatant that you're aware of, please let me know.
Thanks again -
Lisa
Lisa, the dictionary file is used to resolve things like sys.tab$.obj# gets rsolved to its appropriate name.
you WANT a dictionary file.
as for the 6510, a couple of items, make sure you have the dictionary path is in the init.ora in the utl_file_dir entry, make sure the filename you pass is correct.
what version of database you have this on? there are more than a few bugs in logminer.
