Managed Standby DB/Managed Recovery - bugs fixed in 8.1.6.3.0 ??

The rumor is that there's lots of problems running a standby database with
the O8i "managed standby environment" with automated Net8 log transfers. As
a result folks have developed scripts for copying the logs. Is this still
the case with 8.1.6.3.0 or have the bugs been fixed as Oracle claims? Any
track record with managed standby databases on 8.1.6.3.0 that you can share?
