It is very similar. Just watch out for the fact that - on Solaris at least -
the Installer comes on 3 Cds, so you have to do some nifty shifty around in
directories so that you can mount and unmount as you go... The same goes for
having a window to run the extra 'root permissions' scripts. Plus there'll
be probably be some shared memory settings to deal with first.

Hello all,
My Oracle background is all on NT4 and Win2K. This afternoon I have to do a Unix install. It has been about 10 years since I've been on Unix. Will the Oracle 8.1.7 install on Unix work the same as on NT using the Java Universal installer? Or is there a different method of install.
