Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Setting Clock in Oracle Application
Although you can do this (i.e. implementing clock), I'd suggest you NOT to
do this, because this will be useful when mostly your form will be idle.
During transaction time, the timer triggers will not be fired/recognized and
hence pretty useless. Also this clock will probably turn out to be off by a
large number of seconds during heavy transactions or lookups and it will
(likely) be a strain on the resources as well.
I'd ask my users to look at the clock on the taskbar (if you are on windoz) or on the wall (ok no more jokes) otherwise.
But of course you must have a valid business requirement, so, just take this ... it is going to be difficult.
(Now only if I could take out the negative tone out of my email ... but then
I hate sending out a blank email).
Good luck
Raj
