Both are excellent tools. Object Manager (OraSoft/Advantio) is a static tool
with an integrated PL/SQL editor (yes, it can compile and highlight the
errors)
while tora is a dynamic tool which resembles the top session monitor. Tora
depends
on the QT-2.2 (doesn't work with 2.1 which comes with RH 6.2) while Object
Manager
depends on GTK 1.2.7+ (Helix Gnome). I use the combination of both. There
was
another excellent tool, written in Perl/Tk called Orac_Dba and maintained
by Andy
Duncan, but it seems to have gotten slightly out of date. It used to reside
on
www.kkits.com/orac_dba and there was a mirror on TUX. I believe that the
combination
can completely supplement the Toad tool.

Hi!
Just came across this... Since quite a few people on this list are using
Oracle on Linux, this might be interesting for you... This is a TOAD /
SQL
Navigator like tool for Linux.
