If I remember correctly, the reason it was limited to four and later just
recommend that only 4 be used, was because of OS considerations. If you had SIDs
over 4 characters, it was possible for the OS to hash the SIDs to the sname value
especially if the first 4 where the same. Since OSs have improved, and since
most people don't use SIDs that are the same in the first 4 chars, this is no
longer true.
