SQL * Plus Buffer (8.1.5)

I am trying to execute a procedure whose output is exceeding the buffer cache and is giving the error
buffer cache exceeded and the proc is not able to execute fully. I have set the buffer length to 2000 and width to 1000 and sql*plus won't allow me increase its length or width anymore. All DBAs what should i do?
