Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Ora 3114 error?
Happens frequently using the dbassist tool
The database is first created by the DB Assist tool useing "Create
database...."
After creation, at some stage, the tool attempts to open the database.
It's either failing to create the database, or connect as internal (sys as sysdba) to the new database
(Previously I've fixed the problem by setting the environment variable
ORACLE_SID to the new SID before running the tool)

Subject: Ora 3114 error?
Hi.
I am trying to create an Oracle backup database, but half way through the creation (using the dbassist tool) it tells me that I am not connected to Oracle with an Oracle error of 3114.
What am I doing wrong...?
Please help as this is urgent...
