Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Create Table Error
Use a copy with create option. However I recommend you to use LOBs. They
have several features that helps you manage that kind of data. For Instance
you can create the table with as select:
SQL> create table t1
2 ( a clob);
Table created.
SQL> r
1* create table t2 as select * from t1 where 1=0
Table created.
And about the copy.....Here you have a quick reference:
SQL> copy
usage: COPY FROM <db> TO <db> <opt> <table> { (<cols>) } USING <sel>
<db> : database string, e.g., scott/tiger_at_d:chicago-mktg <opt> : ONE of the keywords: APPEND, CREATE, INSERT or REPLACE <table>: name of the destination table <cols> : a comma-separated list of destination column aliases <sel> : any valid SQL SELECT statementA missing FROM or TO clause uses the current SQL*Plus connection.
