Excessive exp/imp-times

Dear List,

we experience excessive export/import-times in one specific server/client-combination:

server:
IBM Netfinity dual-processor
SuSE Linux 7.0
ORACLE EE 8.1.6 client:
PC
NT 4, SP 5
ORACLE 8.0.6 Export/import against NT-boxes is fast as usual. Networking, FTP works = fine.
Any hints, where to search for the bottleneck?=20
