I have been able to use PRO*C programs to export tables to fixed-width files
pretty quicky. On a pretty-darn-quick Sun box, I was getting "export" rates
of about 10k-25k records per second. 10k/sec would export 22m in about 40
minutes.
The PRO*C program was doing bulk-binds.
If you have 8.1.6 you have the option of doing direct exports if noone is performing updates on the table.
