Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Oracle Parallel Server (OPS) on linux
Right now I am working on certifying OPS on Linux on Redhat 6.2 EE. We
should be completing the certification process by the end of FEB. Aside, I
am comparing it to OPS on NT 4.0, The initial results tends to favor NT over
Linux. The testing and certification are being done on 4 CPU box with 2GB of
RAM. The certification process is being done along with team from Oracle.
The comparison is being done only for our internal purpose. I would send the
results to who ever is interested i.e. when we are done. The testing is
being done for Data-Warehouse project. The size of the data is about 200GB.
The testing process ranges on most of things that we most do in our shop(i.e
updates loading, long quires etc.).
Thx
Gautam

Subject: Oracle Parallel Server (OPS) on linux
Hi list,
I have some doubts about Oracle Parallel Server(OPS). Could you help me
1 - Is OPS (8.1.6 or higher) available for linux ? If yes..
1.1 Can I have an OPS without a shared subsystem disks? 1.2 Did anyone experience this instalation 1.3 What is the compatible cluster (beowulf, cplant, avalon, etc..) withOPS, that had been tested ?
Thanks a Lot !
