Only if you use ifile command in your init.ora file.
Otherwise ifile has no value.

Hi Gang,=20
If you run the command:=20
SQL> show parameters=20
as system. In the output you should see a record that looks something =
like
this:=20
NAME TYPE VALUE ------------------------------------ ------- = ------------------------------=20 ifile p; file/ptcmetde/pfile/configPTCMETDE.ora=20
This is the init file the database ACTUALLY read during startup.=20

Kevin Kostyszyn <kevin_at_dulcian.com> wrote:=20
If you are doing it manually, don't you path out the pfile?

I've read several answers mentioning the dbs directory or other OS directories to check for the init file.=20
How do you tell which init file was used to start the database when =
"startup
pfile=3D" is used?=20
