Rocky,
Yes, we do it. We have a tnsnames.ora file on a shared drive. Then on the client machines go into regedit and add an entry called TNS_ADMIN with data of the shared drive name. Do this under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE. You may need to play with it to make sure that everything is set corrrectly.

Subject: TNSNAMES.ora
Hi Gang,
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Is there a way to have multiple clients
access just one tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora file without using Oracle
Names (a registry setting, etc)?
TIA, Rocky
