8.1.6 ends bug fixes on 10/31/2001 for all platforms, including IBM Numa,
which is a royal joke when you consider how long it takes the RDBMS to get
ported to that platform! I'm not sure of the "end of support" date itself.
8.1.7 does not have an annouced de-support date yet.<br>
