[edited/resubmit after GPF in email program:]
Joe,
Thanks for the tip. Bookpool shows several other Oracle8/8i for NT books, but they all seem to be pure "starter" books. I have about 10 years experience w/ Oracle 5/6/7 on Netware, so I don't think it is worth spending money on pure "starter" books (esp. since there are a lot of good Technet & Metalink documents/notes on Oracle8/NT issues). My understanding was that the "Oracle8/NT Black Book" goes a bit further than being a pure starter book, and treats some in depth technical issues. Unfortunately it was written in 1998, and the material is about Oracle 8.0. Most of the other, more recent Oracle8/NT "starter" books are for 8i, and that probably made it hard for the "Black book" authors/publisher to market an updated version.
My guess is that the "Black Book" can be found w/ one of those used book finding services. I may try after the holidays.
best wishes,
ep
