CBO / RBO question

Hi all,
On Oracle 8.0.5 CBO, we encountered an issue with the CBO choosing to access a table via an index read instead of by ROWID. By dropping statistics on the table, we triggered it to use RBO and corrected the problem. Here's the question. If we increase the degree of parallel, this would normally cause the CBO to be used. But since the statistics are still gone, don't we wind back up using the RBO?

Thanks, Received on Sun Dec 10 2000 - 22:55:44 CST
