Rahul,

I haven't seen this message before but I have got this from Metalink. This is normal behaviour.
This feature has been provided to get more information about the archiving process in 8i.
This cannot be turned off as of release 8.1.5.

i get the following line in the arc trace file each time the the log is archived !

ARC0: Archiving block 96129 count 128 to : '/hd3/SASSArch/1_1176.dbf' .......

is there any way NOT to write this trace file ? as it gets really long, i dont want to
know that block number nnn is copied to 'filename'...
