Cyril,

If you are in a flood prone area, don't locate it in the ground floor (first floor in America). In any case, don't locate it in the basement area (prone to water leaks from drains/water supply). I remember that many Data Centers in the 'City' (of London) fled the business district because all access is closed when there is a Bomb scare, so keep such things in mind as well. Raised floors with raisable floorboards make sense when having to route cables underneath. Don't forget the alarms (smoke, fire, humidity, temperature), access control, UPS (with facilities to page when there is a power failure), airconditioning, etc. Door sizes and elevator access as well are an issue. Make sure that you have at least one floor above you and the Centre doesn't have windows (natural insulation and physical protection). Large 'Fan boxes' that can suck out hot air is also a good idea when the Airconditioning breaks down....
