Privet Hannah,
Just rename the file. If you still have problem, oracle will create another one. On Unix there is a command 'tail' which reads the end of a file with number of string you have specified. I know that there are NT programs which emulate unix-style commands. Someone from Listers mentioned of such products some time ago, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the letter. Please, ask your SA.
