Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: FreeOCP
We not only have a clear age and "cultural" difference between
many respondents, there is obviously(?) a resulting ideological
component.
The "old timers" are "libertarian" americans who distrust (if not despise) central authority, value "self-reliance", moral individualism, etc.
The "pro-OCP" crowd are mostly people from "collectivist" cultures (with recent histories of socialist institutions) that put more emphasis on group validation and norms.
thanks for the fascinating explorations in a debate that probably can
not, and will not, ever end.
