If you have enough memory to give the session sort_area_size 1gig =
memeory
and temp, data and index tablespaces on the different spindles and =
create
indes as nologging - it will be done in minutes.

Using "time" as a factor that we all are judged by... Is it quicker to
backup the INDX datafiles and restore them if needed OR create the =
indexes
after a restore? Knowing that the database can be available to the =
user
community without indexes but the "service" will be degraded and poor =
at
best. The creation of some indexes can take longer than the restore =
from
backup along with the data restore. It takes 4 =BD hrs to backup 68 GIG =
to
tape and takes 4 =BD hrs to do a full restore. It takes approx 6 hrs =
just to
do 1 of the large indexes on the 6 GIG table.
2 bits worth.

I will agree that both TEMP and INDEX are "easy" to rebuild. You sure that they don't require you to backup RBS? It is not easy to rebuild it at all! :D
