Hannah,
It appears you have already answered your question as you have your list =
started. You will need to do the first 3 for sure. What I would suggest is =
downloading the Candidate Guide, which lists all the objectives you should =
know and can be tested on, from the OCP site. Thus, you will know =
precisely what they expect you of you and you can study as in depth as you =
wish. The "objectives" they list are exactly as they appear at the =
beginning of each chapter in the student coursebooks. These books of =
course only present the info in a limited form and that is all you need in =
order to PASS, but if you want to LEARN, you can use the SQL Reference =
Manual to further research all the commands and options.
A word of caution (though it won't keep you from passing in any way), but = what is in the coursebook is GOSPEL, regardless of whether it is correct = or not! There were a couple errors or inconsistencies in the coursebooks. = Also the tests, are strictly 8.1.5, not 8.1.6. I've done 4/5 of the 8i = exams so far.

Hi List,
Seen alot of OCP questions recently and feel ok now to throw in mine.
I am just starting for the 8i track. I want to start with the Admin test.
However, like others here, do not use 8i in production. What I want to =
try to
do is compile a list a *tasks* that I should be able to perform for this =
test.
My intention in to LEARN Oracle, not just pass a test. But all materials =
I see
focus on PASSING the test. I would like to perform ALL of the task that I =
need
on a live DB (I have a complete server setup at home). I find this type =
of
thing lacking. What I am looking for is like the following:
This way, I am actually DOING the work. I am not asking HOW to do these =
things.
If I don't know, I will research it. It is the BEST way to learn. It =
would be
nice to get this type of thing for all of the tests, but I'll start at the =
DB
Admin.
I want to create a *comprehensive list*. I have gone as far as to try to =
get
course syllabus too, but they are never detailed enough.
