If you can afford a single long-running query to bring to a halt entire application due to locking issues, continue to look. If you need a multiple master replication (merge replication in SQL Server speak) and can afford to reinitialize the replication every two weeks (as we do, I have heard others are doing it every week), you can also continue to look. Otherwise, IMHO, it will be a waste of time.
