Subject: RE: RMAN question also

I am a little off on this - should I run the new 8.1.7 version of catrman.sql on my 8.1.6 instance? This might affect more than I want it to....

hmmm

thanks

Try running catrman.sql into your database. That should update the pacakage.

Hi all,

So I was just handed a small Sun box to play with. I thought ... hmmm I could use a new RMAN catalog. I also thought hmmm I would like to try playing with 8.1.7 ... so these together caused me to install and get running a small DB in 8.1.7. Now I want to backup a bunch of 8.1.6 databases - some on Sun some on NT and one on Linux. But all 8.1.6

I try to connect and I get : incompatible package ... too old.

is there a way to use 8.1.7 to backup other 8.1.6 databases - or should I roll it back to 8.1.6 on my play machine.

thanks all...

Adam
