Archivelog

Hi guys,

I am running 8.1.6 on both Unix & Win 2000, My database was running fine on unix, but not on Win 2000.

I wanted the database to be in Archivelog mode. when i changed the parameter

log_archive_dest_1 = "Location=F:\oracle\arch"

it gives an error saying its in Managed standby. I tried by changing the parameter to

log_archive_dest = 'F:\oracle\arch'

It worked fine and opened in archivelog mode.

Can anyone tell me why i am getting this error since i am having the below format in unix.   

log_archive_dest_1 = "Location=F:\oracle\arch"
