This is a reach, but I remember, way back in my AIX days, getting an error
similar to this when something bad happened to the kernel extensions that
need to be set up for AIX.
I'm working on dim ancestral memory here, so I make no guarantees...

Subject: DBWR process terminated - KCF:write/open error
Hi listers!
I have a production database (AIX 4.2.1, Oracle 7.3.4) where I did a compressed export (using compress) and then passed it to another server (AIX 4.3.3, Oracle 8.1.5) via ftp in binary mode. In this new server wich I am testing, I have already created the structures of the oracle database and I am supposed to just do an import to get the data.
While importing, I got the following error (I tried this twice) at the same disk:
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 3113 encountered ORA-03113:end-of-file on communication channel IMP-00000: Import terminatedunsuccessfully
Once I got this, the import was terminated. I checked if there was a message in the alert.log, and I found this:
Fri Nov 24 16:09:48 2000
KCF: write/open error block=0x89e4online=1
error=27063 txt: 'IBM AIXRISC System/6000 Error: 11: Resource temporarily
