Shawn,

I know that Sybase uses triggers for it's Oracle replication.

Even so, it is still asynch. Oracle replication requires a 2 phase commit; major headache.

Do you want to replicate to more than one database?

Use Sybase Rep Server. It is a very powerful product. Oracle replication cannot even come close to it.

This may change with 9i though. I understand that replication will be reading the redo logs, which will allow for asynchronous operation.

We'll have to wait and see if Oracle knows how to do this well. Received on Thu Nov 16 2000 - 10:38:19 CST
