Waleed,
it is the init.ora parameter :LOG_ARCHIVE_MAX_PROCESSES which control the processes.

Subject: Archiver on 8.1.6 ARC0 to ARC9
I have a database (Oracle 8.1.6) with 10 Archiver processes ARC0 - ARC9.
Is there anyway to control the number of ARC processes?
Thanks
Waleed
