It probably means Oracle is using something developed there. I'm not sure
what; U. of M. has been a player in many
areas such as DCE, distributed computing environment.

The Oracle binary version information contains a lot of entries about University of Michigan. I'm curious why. This is Oracle 8.1.6 for Solaris SPARC, 32-bit.
