Oops! My error. I have 2 SQL*Plus sessions open and ran the query on my 8.1.5 instance, not 7.3.4. Sorry. I don't have that view in 7.3.4, only v$archive. FYI, there are 97 v$ views in 7.3.4 and 352 in 8.1.5. Yikes!

Still can't do it, but I'm on a prod box so can't re-run any scripts. But I'm in the middle of rebuilding the test and devl (devlopment) server, so as soon as its up, I'll try it there. I have 8i at home, so when I go home, I'll go play with it there too:>
