It takes a while for it to get cleared off. Imagine killing a session while a long update transaction was in progress. So, 'Oracle' has to get to work to get your database back to its previous consistent state. Pe patient and check your Dictionary tables later and most hopefully it will be clean.

Oracle 8.0.5
Is there a method of getting rid of the locks or indded the session once it has been marked as killed. We need to get rid of this session without bouncing the DB. Any ideas ??
