Hi
Anyone with experience of debugging Oracle 816 NT shutdown failures ?
Oracle 8.1.6 with 81611 & 81612 applied
NT4 Server (STD) + SP6a
80% of the time stopping an Oracle instance (OracleServicexxx) through net
stop or Services:
Oracle.exe for the instance spawns a oradim.exe -shutdown -sid xxx -usrpwd
xxx -shutmode i -log oradim.log
After a period of time (2+ minutes) a popup appears :
ORACLE.EXE -Application Error The exception Privileged instruction. (0xc000O096) occurred in the application at location Ox60b4bf42. Click on OK to terminate the application Click on CANCEL to debug the applicationBoth the oradim.exe and the oracle.exe are still alive. killing the oradim is not allowed. killing the oracle.exe kills both oracle.exe and the oradim.exe.
That's about as far as my limited Oracle knowledge has taken me, but at least its only shutdown I am having problems with !!!!
TIA
