You might get some info from looking in your listener.log at the same time as the error.

Hi list,
Can anyone suggest me how to track the session causing the following error msg in alert log file:

2000-10-10 23:05:37.926 ERROR, tran=31.23.1304, session#=1, ose=0: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied ORA-02063: preceding line from HSDAS5.HSD.UTC.COM

We are running 8.1.6 on Sun 2.7
