Dear friends,

I'm trying to design a database inclusion( utility ) for handling

  1. Frequent changes in table names and column names.

Note: The code in the application accesing the db should remain the same..( I mean the sql-query should not change) Changes can be done to the database but not to the application as such.

Is it possible to do it with a help of some configuration table kindof in the database,, and some internal stored procedures which can map to the original table name and column name.. Of course, the conf. table will be informed of the changes, through manual entry from the data admin..??

Anybody has come across a utility for this?? if so please let me know..

Thanks, Received on Fri Nov 03 2000 - 01:17:17 CST
