rubber (British) = eraser (US)
knock up (British) = wake up (US)
When I first came to US, I asked the lady that was dispensing office
supplies
in the company that I worked for at that time for a 'rubber'.
She immediately went ballistic, threatening me with a law suit and I
didn't have a clue about what has suddenly got into her. Somehow, the same
thing
happened to me when I asked the lady at the hotel reception desk (Red Roof
Inn,
Secaucus, NJ) to "knock me up tomorrow at 7".

I believe there were a couple of websites that has that info, but I forgot where. Also, I'm afraid to ask, but what is a "fag packet".
