Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> HELP: object features
Hi Guys
We will have a task to migrate some part of a pure object-oriented application server to Oracle server. The application server consists of huge number of objects(classes) with their data. I expect I will encounter the following inside: object lists, search through graph (tree of objects), hierarchy of objects. I'm not 100% sure I have translated the terms correctly, but I believe the main problem will be how to store data of the objects in Oracle. My assumption is the "standard relation model" is not very suitable for such tasks. I have high requirements on retrieving objects' data from DB (that should work FAST!). I have no experience with new oracle object features at all. So I'm interested in your opinions. What object features should I use/not use? How fast/reliable does they work? Any good/bad experience with object features.
I'm very interested in whitepapers, links, etc
ANY help would be very appreciated !!!
Ed
