select problem

Hi to all,

I am facing a problem while selecting a column of table. The data type of column is varchar2(2000). Other than this field I can easily select remaining. If I select this column I am getting the following oracle error. Even If I give select * from table also getting the same error. Any clue is highly appreciated.

oerr ora 1489
01489, 00000, "result of string concatenation is too long" // *Cause: String concatenation result is more than the maximum size. // *Action: Make sure that the result is less than the maximum size.

I am working Oracle verson of 7.3.4.0.0.
