When I'm checking the per user buffer hit ratios, and I see a consistent 99%, I suspect one of two things:

  1. Cartestian join - they make the hit ratio look good, but make the user or developer look stupid.
  2. Reading the same rows from the same table millions of times in quick succession. Whatsa matter with these guys? Never heard of using variables?
