Hi all,

My database has 2 redo log groups and each group has 3 members. Each members size is 1 meg each.=20

The problem is that archive logs are generated at a fast rate:

-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091001.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091002.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091003.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091004.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091005.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1050112 Oct 23 19:22 0000091006.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091007.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:23 0000091008.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:23 0000091009.arc

Isnt it good practice to keep 3 days worth of archive logs on disk in case needed? If so, what is the best solutions for this high rate=20 logs being generated so often?
