Re: ORA-12547:TNS:LOST CONTACT

I'd just like to point out that if you are directly logged onto the machine hosting Oracle, there is NO need to have SQL*Net configured or operational to start the database. On a fresh install, I ALWAYS get the database up BEFORE even bothering with configuring SQL*Net access to it.
