Since you people are fascinated by the missing days.
The truth of the matter is that the locals demanded their
days back!!!! Seems the landlords wanted the rent at the
end of the month even tho nobody had worked enough
days to get the rent money!!!!

Actually, that correction was made in Sept. 1752:

I played with the below problem and discovered that it gets the date correct
for 10/1/1582 - 10/4/1582 and again starting with 10/16/1582. All of the
dates between 10/5/1582 and 10/15/1582
return 10/15/1582. Looks like some kind of bug (or feature).
