You would need to obtain the 816 CDROM from Oracle. Install it in a new
ORACLE_HOME (preferred!). Then upgrade your database accordingly.
When I do this kind of upgrade, I mark about an hour for the whole process as down time only. Most of the time I can finish it within the time limit

Subject: Can 8.1.5 to 8.1.6 be done with patches?
Is there some sort of megapatch or patch bundle that can be downloaded to upgrade from 8.1.5 to 8.1.6?
Is this a fairly simple upgrade that can be done sort of transparently to the users? Or is it a major upgrade that is more appropriate to be done with a CD and a regular upgrade maintenance window of a day or two of system downtime?
TIA, Cherie
