v$circuit does not return rows in MTS
v$session returns rows in both DEDICATED and MTS

v$session if you are using dedicated connections... V$circuit,etc for MTS..

In v$session, ignore where type='BACKGROUND' to not include the oracle background processes..
You can join v$session and v$process to get info about each session..

I would like to know how to verify the number of database connections there are currently.

I tried v$session and look at the output from lsnrctl services.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
