Ajay, grant ALTER SESSION to the user who needs to trace. That should do it.

While trying to set autorace on I am getting the message :

SP2-0618: Cannot find the Session Identifier. Check PLUSTRACE role is enabled

SP2-0611: Error enabling STATISTICS report

but if i try to connect as system I am able to explain plan. what should be the reason.
