Thank you very much! I am now being told that "defaulting
only
works if you can name the parameters when you call the
stored proc. In
JDBC we can't do that"... so I don't know if your solution
will work, but I
am going to implement it and we can try it out. Thanks
again, I a very
grateful for your help. I will let you know it if works or
not.

Use DEFAULT for this new parameter, so it becomes 'optional'
