Locally managed tablespaces

I came with these questions today and I'm too tired for the day to research them:

1- Does any body know the algorithm used for auto-allocate in locally managed tablespaces?
2- I created many auto-allocate local tablespaces and not very happy with the fact having no control on the sizes of allocated next extents since I can't alter the next extent's size of the created objects in these TSs and do not know the used algorithm. Can I convert auto local to uniform local?
