I have encountered this before. This was on Solaris 2.6, we have this one machine that does that. It's OS related and I told the SA and he seems to know about it and fix it easily. It didn't appear to be a serious matter. The database runs fine before and after he fixed the problem.

So if you have a SA just tell him to fix it. If not I would start searching Sun's website or contact their tech support.

Hi,

I issued IOSTAT in Solaris but it gives Segmentation Fault - Core Dumped.

What does that mean? Is it something serious?

TIA
Sanjay Kumar
