Rene,
These guidelines are what is know as Oracle OFA (Optimal Flexible Architecture). You can find info on this @
http://technet.us.oracle.com/doc/solaris/server.805/adminref/ch1_ofa.htm
This is specific to 8.0.5 on Sun SPARC, but the concepts are generally the same.
A list member (Sean O'Neill) has also put together a "Standardising Oracle on NT" document, which discusses possible configurations of tablespaces, files etc. If you would like a copy of this document, contact me via mark_at_cool-tools.co.uk and I will send the copy I have over to you back channel.

Subject: Which files on which disk
There are performance guidelines to divide Oracle files over several disks. Where can I find these guidelines ?

Rene
