Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: DBA's salary range for Down Under
When I worked as the sysadmin for a network switching office, when there = was a problem the manager would breath down my neck until I pointed to a = sign "IF YOUR NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION YOU MUST BE PART OF THE PROBLEM" =worked every time... I was left alone to fix the problem ROR =AA=BF=AA
I'm not so sure about the work from home part, but on a project last year = I worked out of office several hundred miles away from the rest of the = project team, and only traveled on site for short visits. The good part = about that wasn't that I was isolated from everyone--there were plenty of = people in my office, but that I was isolated somewhat from the managers = and others on the project team. When there was a problem, I could focus on = fixing it without having the manager standing behind me breathing fire = down my neck. I also enjoyed the absence of casual interruptions from = people who just happened to be walking by.
I think the important thing is to work in an office far removed from your = boss<grin>.
